September in 2nd and 3rd class

2nd and 3rd class had a busy start to the new school year. They all been working very hard and have been having a great time learning and discovering together. In Science this month we were learning about friction. We ran toy cars off ramps and measured how far the cars travelled on different surfaces. We were surprised with some of our finding about surfaces that had higher and lower friction.

We have been exploring the theme of Autumn also this month. 2nd and 3rd class had great fun using bubble wrap to create autumn leaves on their trees.

During Friendship Fortnight we talked and discussed alot about the qualities of a good friend. We also came up with lots of different ways we can show respect and kindness to everybody in our school.

2nd and 3rd class had great fun creating tin foil art. Everyone got a cardboard square, they drew a simple picture on it and then glued string along the lines. They then covered the cardboard and string with tin foil and coloured the tin foil pictures using permanent markers. Everyone did a super job and we think they look really cool!!
